Love Out Loud Ministry Opportunities:
- You can serve in any ministry that you want as long as there is no age restriction. (Feed By Faith & Habitat both require 18 years of age to serve)
- You can serve as a group if a LifeGroup class decides to sign up together.
- You can serve in daytime or afternoons.
- You can serve if you have children. Child care will be provided at the church.
- You can serve 1 day or all 5. Whatever you are able to do!
- You can PRAY for a mighty move of God and that He be glorified!
Drive thru prayer: Take this opportunity to offer someone a cold bottle of water and pray with them as they pass by the church on North Hills Street. They stay in their car and we stand outside of the car for prayer. Our community was very receptive to this ministry last year.
Public Schools: This is a very fruitful ministry. We will be weeding and mulching flower beds and assisting with library books at Meridian High School. Also, assisting to clean Harris Lower and moving a playground at Northeast Elementary.
Feed By Faith: Serve with this well established ministry Monday - Friday that offers hot meals to clients in the 5th street area of Meridian.
Happiness Hills Girls Home: Located near Union, John & Anna Rush are house parents here. Men have opportunities to serve here by fixing gutters, filling in a trench under the porch, put in flooring, painting, hanging sheetrock, fixing a deck and sand & seal a porch. Guys with carpentry skills... we need you! Ladies will be working with the girls making soaps and various other crafts. This will be a Monday ministry for the ladies and multiple days for men.
Solid Rock Boys Home: Located near Union. We will have the opportunity to spend time with these young men doing outdoor activities & making minor repairs to their home
Baptist Children's Village (2 locations): At the Bay Springs location, we have a two day project to put up a chain link fence. At the Nanih Waiya location, we will be doing carpentry repairs. Wayne Raley will be guiding these repairs.
Habitat For Humanity: Meridian has 100 people on a waiting list needing home repairs. If you are 18 or older, you can serve by painting and assisting with minor home repairs. This ministry will be available during each day and Monday & Tuesday afternoons.
Hope Village: We will be able to serve here assisting with outdoor repairs and work. This will be a two day project.
Greater Meridian Health Mobile Bus: This mobile clinic will be on site at each Dumont plaza night service and at Feed By Faith. Registered Nurses perform blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. We are not needed to staff this but we encourage all of us to actually go in and be screened! This is a great asset that is being provided for free.
Boy's & Girls Club: Work is available at the club Monday - Friday. The club in Meridian is awesome. We will join in on their activities that are already planned. You will have the opportunity to read a book, play indoor games, serve snow cones and popcorn in the park or spend time listening to a child that needs someone to listen. This ministry is so rewarding!
Pregnancy Crisis Center: We need 5 ladies to write scripture and place in bottles for new moms. We also need volunteers to help advertise the “Silver Ring Thing” event that will be happening on September 10th; giving rings to girls proclaiming abstinence before marriage. We’ll be handing out flyers in local parking lots and at Dumont plaza. We will also have a city wide diaper drop located at Northcrest for the week.
Random Acts of Kindness: This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to be very proactive in soul winning and approaching people. It is an evangelistic mission. We will approach people by offering gift cards to certain businesses such as Chic-Fil-A or McDonald's. Offer a gift card, speak a kind word, let people know why you are out there. We will also have gospel tracts.
Multi-County (also known as south harbor shelter): We will landscape, work on floors & ceilings, paint, provide hygiene items and assist in the food pantry.
Salvation Army: We will meet clients from our city who need assistance with food, clothing, and shelter.
People's Charity Clinic: We will meet clients from our city who need many forms of assistance. Help organize clothing. Talk with people and listen to them. Some people just need someone to listen.
Camp Eagle Ridge: We will help with various carpentry projects.
If you sign up to help, meet us for morning prayer and a light breakfast Monday - Friday at 8AM in the Northcrest Baptist Student Center.
